Burl Slab Coffee Table & Antique Asian Style Screen

Finally managed to get a few hours in my workshop today and got these two pieces ready for market.  The screen is Asian style, light wood frame with paper and fabric covering.  Hand painted in a very western looking motif; very attractive although it is also very old (100 yrs or more), and consequently somewhat on the fragile side.

Stumbled across the burl slab at a yard sale a few weeks ago, found leaning against a tree.  The guy running the sale seemed astonished that anyone wanted it, but here it is.  We love it, weathered, even burned around a couple of the edges, maintains something of the wild country from which it originally came.
